PVC
- Clean PVC with a warm water and mild soap solution, be sure not to use caustic or abrasive solutions that may end up wearing away the finish on the PVC causing deterioration and discolouration. Be sure to rinse with clean water once clean to remove any remaining soap.
- Clean channels, tracks and drain holes on sliding windows or doors at least once a year (preferably twice) in order to avoid undue wear and tear from excess dust and dirt accumulation (on sliding windows it is normal for water to accumulate in the tracks during heavy rain, this will dissipate through the drain holes as designed)
- Lubricating tracks with silicone based sprays is recommended
Screens
- Carefully remove the screen and lay flat. Vacuum the screen, or lay flat and soak with a mild soapy solution and wipe clean with a soft cloth or brush. Note: It is very important to remove screens by pushing towards arrow stickers on the corners. Failure to properly remove screens causing breakage of corners is not covered by warranty. If you are unsure, please come into the showroom and staff will demonstrate for you.
- Be careful not to damage screen mesh or aluminum frame when removing the existing screens.
Glass
- Clean glass with a warm water and mild soap solution or a vinegar-based solution. Ammonia or alcohol based cleaners are not recommended. It is best to use a lint free cloth and wipe in circular motions. Using pressure washers is not recommended to clean windows.
- Glass is best washed while not in direct sunlight in order to avoid premature drying of cleaning solution.
- Use of scrapers and blades in not recommended.
Hardware Cleaning
- The hardware comes pre-lubricated. If necessary the hardware is best lubricated with petroleum jelly, automotive grease or lithium grease.
