PVC Care

  • Clean PVC with a warm water and mild soap solution, avoiding caustic or abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish and cause deterioration and discoloration.
  • Rinse with clean water after cleaning to remove any remaining soap residue.
  • Clean channels, tracks, and drain holes on sliding windows or doors at least once a year (preferably twice) to prevent excessive wear and tear from dust and dirt accumulation.
  • Lubricate tracks with silicone-based sprays to ensure smooth sliding.

Screen Maintenance

  • Carefully remove screens by pushing towards arrow stickers on the corners to avoid breakage, as improper removal is not covered by warranty.
  • Lay the screen flat and vacuum it or soak it with a mild soapy solution, then wipe it clean with a soft cloth or brush.
  • Avoid damaging the screen mesh or aluminum frame when removing existing screens.

Glass Cleaning

  1. Clean glass with a warm water and mild soap solution or a vinegar-based solution, avoiding ammonia or alcohol-based cleaners.
  2. Use a lint-free cloth and wipe in circular motions for streak-free results.
  3. Wash glass while not in direct sunlight to prevent premature drying of the cleaning solution.
  4. Avoid using scrapers and blades on glass.

Hardware Care

The hardware comes pre-lubricated; if necessary, use petroleum jelly, automotive grease, or lithium grease for optimal performance.

Not only did he tighten the screens on the windows Western Windows had installed, he also fixed the screens on other windows as well. AND, he helped me remove the windows so they could be washed.
